[OOC: This is part 2 of the re-RP between Dawn and Buffy. The original post was here; this was right after Andrew had written to Dawn asking if she knew who the "Ethan" sending Giles letters might be, and she vaguely recalled the name from the place her mom bought her a Halloween costume one year....]

Dawn actually did spend a little while studying for her math test, but as soon as she thought she heard Buffy in the other room, she decided it was time for a study break. She'd casually find out whether or not her memory was right and whether there was any reason to worry. Then she'd let Buffy be the one to freak out at Giles, if freaking out was needed.

She had to admit that of the two of them? Her sister was scarier. Also more heavily-armed.

Dawn put down her books and got up, going out into the living room.

[OOC note: LG, this is the memo I sent you by email. Just so you don't get confused]

Mr. Giles,

Ayisha admitted that the first two attacks hadn't really happened.
Hélène and Jody got into a fight. Again. (This is the sixth time--and
that's only the fights I heard of. So Dawn said I should ask you what
I'm allowed to threaten them with--she says wild dogs won't work...)

She came to see me because there really *was* an attack yesterday--the
vampire got as far as the dorm doorway--and she was really scared
about it.

I really don't know what to do with Hélène and Jody's problems, but I
guess it's a good thing Ayisha fessed up.

Wesley didn't knock on Angel's office door. He walked in, the biggest hammer (it was about one feet high, and three inches thick--and damn heavy) he could find on his shoulder. "I heard there was a phone to dismantle?"

Hey all.

I made some icons, because I needed ones for my Willow and Xander journals and I figured I'd make them for all the characters. No one has to use them, obviously, but here they are!

[OOC: Because Dawn's player really did have midterms, and both Dawn's and Andrew's players were on vacation, this covers about a month. We'll try to post e-mails more frequently from now on.]

[OOC note: With a new player for Buffy, we're taking the opportunity to re-do the Dawn-Buffy interaction--so much that was wrong with it was due to frequent cast changes, so we're trying to see what happens with more consistent characterization. This set of messages came when Dawn was still in Rome with Buffy, shortly after Andrew had told her that Xander was "missing."]

Since Buffy had gone back to patrolling regularly, and Dawn had school and homework, they seemed to just keep missing each other. Mostly, Dawn didn't mind--she was all right on her own, or with her friends from school, and it wasn't like she never saw Buffy.

But sometimes, when she wanted to actually ask Buffy something, it would have been helpful to see her.

Instead, Dawn left a note for Buffy on the whiteboard they'd put on the side of the refrigerator:

Have you heard from Xander lately?

Mr. Giles,

There's been another vampire infiltrating the slayer's dorm last night. Ayisha assures me that none of them actually invited the vampire in, and that's more than a little bit Scary.

I'll take care of the repairs needed for the doorway and I'll also need to order two new mattresses and contact the coven again so they can do their Spell, but I thought I should let you know.

Dawn had to admit, she was kind of glad that Giles had offered her a place to stay while she was in London. She could have found a place on her own, definitely, but this was nicer. Besides, it would mean she got to see more of Giles, without having to bother him when he was trying to work.

He was letting her stay the whole time she was in the country, so she'd even decided to unpack. Not that she'd brought a lot with her--she was going to have to do some laundry before she left--but it felt a little more settled to be taking her clothes out of her backpack and putting them in the dresser.

Dawn went straight from the train station to the Council offices; she figured Andrew and Giles would want to know she was there, and she could make plans with them before going off to get settled wherever she was staying.

She had to ask directions once she was inside, but after that, she found Andrew's office without too much trouble. She decided that since he was at work, she shouldn't just march into his office like she owned the place, even if he probably wouldn't mind, so she knocked on the door.

Dawn took one last look around her bedroom, making sure she hadn't left anything important behind. It didn't take long to check, though, because the room was basically empty; after she checked the drawer in her nightstand where she'd never kept anything more important than a box of kleenex, she had to admit to herself that she was stalling.

Okay, maybe there was one part of the whole "leaving for college" thing she wasn't looking forward to.

She fiddled with her backpack for a while, rearranging things until she was sure she could get to her money and papers easily, but finally she couldn't put it off any longer.

She went out into the hallway, closing the bedrom door behind her. "Buffy?" she called. "I'm almost ready to go."

[OOC note: This is, obviously, backdated. Ooops.]
